چکیده
An investigation into the exhaust emissions of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from a diesel engine was reported. The study is reinforced by experimental results obtained tube reactor aimed at examining PAH formation processes these fuels. paper cantered on 16 priority PAHs suggested United States Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA). These were produced burning conventional fuel and few binary fuels prepared blending various proportions toluene heptane. Special consideration given to B2 subgroup which are known human-carcinogens. Both gas born (smaller) PAHs, as well larger adsorbed onto particulate investigated. used single-cylinder, light duty, high speed, automotive research run an Indicated Mean effective pressure (IMEP) 7 bar. Particulate matter also in temperatures ranging 1050 1350 °C under pyrolysis (oxygen-free) conditions soot resemble, extent, those found core sprays. In engine, it that influenced combustion characteristics like heat release rates ignition delay. However, quiescent oxygen-free reactor, chemical composition temperature dominated formation.

متن کاملThree-Dimensional Modeling of Combustion Process, Soot and NOx formation In a Direct-injection Diesel Engine
This paper is presented to study the combustion process and emissions in a direct injection diesel engine. Computations are carried out using a three-dimensional model for flows, sprays, combustion and emissions in Diesel engines. Interactions between combustion and emissions with flow field are considered and it is shown that soot mass fraction increases at regions with low turbulence inten...
متن کاملSoot Modeling in Diesel Engine
This paper presents an advanced version of the original software developed by the author in order to simulate the combustion in the Diesel engines, focusing on simulate soot formation. Complex kinetic mechanisms are need for realistic modeling of shoot formations, but this is applicable only for simple flame computations (e.g. one dimensional, laminar, etc.). For real turbulent flame calculatio...
متن کاملAir pollution from a large steel factory: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emissions from coke-oven batteries.
A systematic investigation of solid and gaseous atmospheric emissions from some coke-oven batteries of one of Europe's largest integrated steel factory (Taranto, Italy) has been carried out. In air monitoring samples, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were consistently detected at concentrations largely exceeding threshold limit values. By means of PAHs speciation profile and benzo(a)pyre...

Exhaust particulate from compression ignition (CI) engines running on engine and chassis dynamometers was studied. Particulate dichloromethane extracts were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and biomarkers by gas chromatography with flame ionization detector (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). PAH group profiles were mad...
